Be Resilient to Win

In order to make it in this age, you must train yourself to be resilient. The times in which we live are a storm of uncertainty, change, and misfortune. If you are swayed or discouraged by every negative or unplanned thing that happens to you, you simply will not be able to persevere long enough to win.

Resilience is the ability to bounce back after being hit with one of the many strokes of bad luck life fires at us. A resilient person understands that life is a series of peaks and valleys. Resilience gives us the ability to take the hits and continue pushing forward.

This is not to say that the resilient person doesn’t care about what happens, nor does it mean that they simply take it. It means the person is able to take the negative event in, process it and then bounce back. He is able to separate the emotional hit from the reality of the situation. Ultimately, he is able to focus on a solution because the problem is not weighing him down.

The resilient person can keep his momentum in the face of opposition. He keeps his eyes laser focused on his goal. Because of this, he is not thrown off course. It never ruins his day.

If you are doing anything of significance, life will inevitably hit you with a multitude of bad situations. You will have disappointments and failures. You will have people you are counting on who let you down or even deliberately try to sabotage your plans.

Resilience can be built with just a few simple adjustments in mindset. Understand and embrace that life is a journey that is naturally full of wins and losses. Detach your emotions from the things that happen. Realize that the bad things that happen in life are not personal. Even if someone has deliberately moved against you, you should not take it personally as this will cloud your judgement.

Always strive to learn from the misfortunes you suffer in life. You can turn even the worst of events to your advantage if you commit to learning what happened and more importantly what led to it. This will make you far better prepared to avoid similar issues in the future.

Ultimately, resilience is fortified by keeping your eyes laser focused on your goals and push forward.
